Lady PNP chief in Oriental Mindoro busts alleged big-time drug pusher

CALAPAN CITY – An alleged big-time illegal drug pusher in a central municipality in Oriental Mindoro was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the local police team headed by no less by a lady chief of police there the other night.
Socorro town police chief P/Senior Inspector Marites P. Peñaflor, who personally headed the said police operation, identified the arrested suspect as Reymond R. Camacho, 27, a resident of Brgy. Zone 3, said town.
According to Capt. Peñaflor, Camacho did not resist arrest during the buy-bust operation, which happened at about 10 PM of July 7 near the gate of the suspect’s house, some 200 meters away from the local police station.
The arresting police team confiscated from the suspect 11 plastic sachets which contain suspected shabu powder and a licensed.22 Magnum revolver with 10 live bullets.
Also recovered from the suspect the marked money amounting to P2,890, his Nokia cellphone and key chain.
Peñaflor stated the repacked shabu powder, presumably already about to be sold, have been estimated to amount to some P11,000.
The arrested suspect will be subjected to a mandatory drug test because when Camacho was being arrested, he appeared to be “high” on illegal drugs. He is now detained at Socorro police jail while the case against him for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and illegal possession of firearms are being readied.
