The beautiful and amazing island of Boracay, the country’s premiere tourist destination, will be the host of the Global Media Island Convention scheduled on Dec. 8-10, this year.
Louie T. Arriola, publisher of the Asean BiztTimes and convention chairman, said the Global Media Island Convention is an umbrella title of the 3-day Global Media Forum (GMF) and the 16th National Press Congress (NPC), jointly held under the auspices of the Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI) and the Boracay Global Press Corps (BGPC).
Arriola revealed that with the convergence of some 500 journalists and other media personalities from the different parts of the world, Boracay island will virtually become a global media hub for three days.
The global media convention will feature roundtable discussions, commission group sessions, plenary sessions, fellowships, and cultural performances, Arriola said.
“We have invited noted speakers and resource persons from the United Nations, and other established institutions to address the media event,” he said.
Foreign and local media executives, publishers, editors, broadcasters, photojournalists, writers, book authors, journalists from the academe, including those in advertising, marketing, information technology, online journalism, digital communicators, other allied professionals, newspaper and magazine executives, broadcast channels, leaders and members of the press clubs, and other media organizations are invited to attend as participants.
